What are digital plans?
Digital plans are PDF plans that are imported into docu tools—one file per plan.
Active plans count
Only activated plans count toward the license—revision plans or deactivated projects do not count.
Calculated per user
The target number is multiplied per user: 45 active plans × 3 users = 135 plans in the Combo Tool.
Project deactivated?
Then all plans in the project automatically become invalid—no surprises with the license.

docu tools offers four licensing models: Pocket for small teams (15 plans), Combo for growing project needs (45 plans), Multi for large organizations (150 plans), and Enterprise with customized solutions and unlimited plans. All plans include unlimited projects, storage, and free access for subcontractors and viewers. Prices start at €54 per user per month (plus VAT).
What are the main differences between pocket, combo, and multi-tools?
Pocket Tool – The Pocket Tool offers the basic functions of docu tools and is ideal for beginners or for project participants who have been invited to collaborate on an existing project. It is a cost-effective option for anyone who wants to get to know docu tools or collaborate on a selective basis.
Combo Tool – The Combo Tool includes all the essential features for comprehensive work with docu tools. These include user-defined report templates & pin fields, a higher number of plans per user, and access to datasets. It is the right choice for teams that work with docu tools on a regular basis.
Multi Tool – The Multi Tool is aimed at larger organizations with more complex requirements. It offers a significantly expanded number of plans, functions such as QR codes and GPS tracking, and special features for large customers – such as the management of subsidiaries or departments and the option to restrict project folders for individual users.
What is an active plan? Are plans counted per user?
An active plan in docu tools refers to a digital plan that is used in a project. The number of active plans is counted across the organization, not per user. This means that if your organization has three users with a total limit of 135 plans, for example, this limit applies to the entire organization and not to each individual user. When a project is deactivated, the plans it contains are no longer counted as active.Individual plans can also be deactivated within a project. Revision plans are not counted as active plans—when a revision is imported, the previous version is deactivated at the same time.
Can different license models be combined within an organization?
No, for technical reasons, only one license model can be used within an organization. It is not possible to combine different models (e.g., Pocket and Combo).
